I am new to the art of engraving. I know that gold, silver and platinum are used to do inlay on many items. This morning I noticed that palladium had dropped to $169 per ounce. I wondered about the suitability of this metal for inlay. Is it soft enough to work with? I think that its tarnish qualities should be good. What can you tell me? Have you used it? Even with the recent drop in platinum prices, this metal looks appealing to me if the working qualities are good.
