in need of advice

I have a S&W Chiefs Special (mod 36) that I want to engrave and I was wondering
about the edge of the top backstrap and if I should leave it alone or what . I'm
going to try to do it in the American or Nimschke scrolls.
After 2 yrs of practice plates I think I'm ready to finally do one and not mess it up

I have never had any problems engraving a S&W pistol. You should be just fine with it.

Fancygun is right....Engraving on any S&W pistol won't be a problem.

If you can, show us a "work in progress". It's always good to see new talent emerge.

I have engraved a 617 Smith &Wesson. it cut real good, but the cylinder was a little harder than the barrel and side plates
