I have spotted a Leica GZ4 scope for sale on line. My question is will there be enough clearance
to engrave and if not is there anything I can add like Barlow eyepieces etc.?
Thanks

elkinssilver;
I have one of those scopes that I use. You will need a .5 Barlow lens under it. It will take an adapter tube to mount in, and will also act as a place to mount a ring light.
It is a good scope, and I like mine.

take care.

with the .5 lens, there's plenty of room for your hands. if you don't like the power reduction, go with 15 or 20x, wide field eyepieces. my scope with the 10x lenses deliver all the power i need. i don't know about scrimshaw or bulino, but for regular engraving, the power afforded by the 10x is ok.
