I'm trying to design something for my black powder cartridge rifle octagon barrel. It will be cut just in front of reciever ring on top flat. I'm new at this and my engraving is awful but coming along as I learn to sharpen engraver and realize when it's getting dull or broken.

tell me what you think about design and the cuts, good or bad. Some times the truth hurts but it's the best help for this kind of work

It was drawn with pencil on paper and transfered using Mike Cirelli's solution.

The (WINCHESTER) was printed on tracing paper and transfered using Mike's solution.

Thanks

Jack Phillips

thanks for comments.

I tried to get a closer photo but it was fuzzy.

I probably could have cut deeper but my chesil has a short heel for the tight turns.

I'll have to make another.

Looks like a pretty good design to me and yes, shading suggested by Mike would be a great improvement and make it more visual.

I don't understand shading yet.
I know what it does but haven't developed an eye for it yet.
I'll study some others work and and try and see what it needs.
