This is for the God Father of Multi Color Inlay--Ron Smith.
Thanks Dad!
It's hard work, but it's pretty nice to see it shape up.
I'm glad I was paying attention in class!

Thanks everyone...it is a work in progress.
To answer the Q's:
I'll post more pictures as the different sections are completed. Right now, this is about all that is viewable.

I agree,it would look better on a H&H, but I didn't have one in my safe.

The pistol is a Series 70 Colt Gold Cup National Match, converted to a .41 Avenger (A J.D. Jones wildcat)

The metals used are --24k gold, silver,platinum,copper....both sheet and wire.

Chris, by all means bring your slide with you----(I can't imagine why you'd do that,but...)
Mike, I'll try post more pictures as the project develops. Hopefully, you should be able to see it on my table in Reno '09.
Van-Thanks for the Kudos
Roger Bleile----Thanks for the Yoda/Graverwalker analogy....That's pretty funny!
I won't make Ohio Gun Collectors this month--RATS! I usually hook up with Ray Phillips there.

Hey Brian,

I got no saddle bags on that sled so I gotta travel very very light.

You know, I'm glad you started this thread. Ron is at "idol" status. The Winchester in the FEGA newsletter is simply amazing ... as is everything I've seen.

This is a fact ... I keep three things on my nightstand next to the lamp.

My Bible ... King James Study Edition
A copy of the Confederate Constitution

....and Ron's book on advanced scrolls which I intend to upgrade to hardcover.

Fantastic Brian!!!!!! You learn gooooood! Ron truly is a master, I want to get out to see him one day. I love his work, I've just about worn his book out, I usually have it with me, & it's filling up with drawings that I'm doing. I haven't done any inlay yet, I think I'm still quite aways off from that. Thanks for posting. Dwayne

Thanks again, everyone.
Michael...I'll try to post it as "work in progress".

Chris, your "3 things on the nightstand" just about covers all the bases.

On my nightstand, I have a N.I.V. Chain Reference Bible, A signed copy of Glenn Beck's "Inconvenient Book",and a signed copy of Gen. Paul Tibbets' "Return of the Enola Gay".
I had the pleasure of conversing with Gen. Tibbets a few years ago. A real neat guy.
