    is the sam alfrano dvd on sharpening transferable, if i buy it will i learn enough that i can use with my meager equiptment, not grs.

    not sure what you mean by "transferable". the info available should be valuable in most any sharpening situation. only the mechanics would differ somewhat. all systems attempt to obtain repeatability on angles. this assures continuity of geometry and consistency when cutting. there's several videos on youtube that can also start you on a good path.

    thanks. when i said transferable i mean will his use of grs equipment be useful to me on other equipment, i think you answered me. thanks

    that depends on the equipment in question. give a call to grs. they will be able to give a yes or no to that.
