1) jpeg file of design
2) parchment paper taped to regular paper
3) print using laser printer
4) printer ink dust will be laying on parchment
5) lightly spray shellac on metal
6) when shellac tacky ( less than minute )
7) press parchment ink down on shellac
8) burnish with back of fingernail
9) when shellac is dry ( 5 min ) lift paper off
10) ink will be adhered and won't smudge

HP Laser Jet 1160 - no modifications

used Scotch tape for parchment to paper - need a better method as tape doesn't adhere to parchment very well

use only a light dusting pass back and forth with shellac - if too much, will be difficult to dry under the parchment

parchment was from food store in baking area

No - would have if I knew how, but didn't. Just left printer as is.

This process didn't work when using just regular paper - my theory is the parchment kept some/most of the heat away from the ink and left it dry and uncooked and available to be transferred with some tacky shellac.

I have problems getting the shellac the proper dryness. A little to wet and the transfer smears. To dry and it does not stick.
Instead of shellac I have changed to thinned rubber cement. It can get totally dry and still has enough tack to grab the toner.
I use Elmer's rubber cement and Ronsonol lighter fuel as the solvent. About a 50% to 50% mixture.

Hi,
If you use bullseye you should dilute it with Naphtha (zippo lighter fluid).
80/20 seems to slow down drying times to get the correct tack for a easy transfer..
you could change the formula percentage wise to get what you like.
(I don't use spray just brush it on..).
