Having fun with a few birds and whittling on the stock. The other side will have waterfowl.

I recently purchased and have been working through your dvd and workbook. On the stock it is interesting to see the scrolls in three dimensions in order to see what I am trying to simulate in two dimensions with the shading lines. thanks.

I used pretty simple wood carving tools. A V shaped -I think it might be called a veiner/vaner?-for all of the outlines. A rotary for background and some leaf contour work and punches for shaping the wood and smoothing.

At the suggestion of my dear friend John B. I am posting what I believe to be a better photo of the birds. It's much safer posting a small blurry version. They are wonderful at hiding mistakes. The blown up version ...................oh well.

I know I am just a novice but this rivals anything I have seen from Europe. Great job.
