I know this is a far cry from perfect, but considering I am basicly self taught and only a few months into this, I am pretty proud of it. The bracelet is steel and nickel. Everything but the stippleing and wriggle cuts were cut with a 120 on a homemade pnematic engraver. I apologize about the quality of the flat picture. I couldn't upload any of the clearer flat ones for some reason. I would appreciate any feedback on the quality of cuts and the layout. Thanks!

a rather splendid work if you asked me. sometimes the pursuit of "perfection" clouds our vision and we fail to appreciate what's at hand.

Thank yall very much. I tend to agree with you Monk, but it's still hard to not be in total awe of some of the beautiful engraving I see here. I almost don't even mind seeing some of the imperfections tho, because it reaffirms that the piece is in fact handmade. Although I know my cuts could use some definate improvement (especially my shading and wriggled backbones), it seems my biggest challenge is designing the scroll layout before I even cut. To me seems like many here could probably just look at an odd shaped field for a moment, and know almost right away which way to go and the bulk of the time spent on the refining the finer details. I am sure it comes with experience.

for me, very easy to "quick fill" an area. the devil was in getting all the details to make it good enough to look at.
