Hi all.I finally decided to engrave my first firearm. The victim is a stainless steel Kimber 1911. I would appreciate some honest feedbacks. Thanks!

Very nicely engraved 1911.
If I may offer a constructive critique.
It would be that the front portion of the slide has much more background compared to the back.
But overall, one heck a fine first engraved firearm.

a very nice job of it. i like a balance of background/figure. the lack of uniformity in the background is noticeable as mentioned by jb. probably very difficult to change. probably best to not try. the cutting is very consistent throughout.

Excellent first, (or second, or third), firearm. I look back on my first with horror and shame! (But I was proud of it at the time.)

I tried desperately to get my first gun back but the owner refused. I think he wanted to keep it so he could use it to bribe me in the future! Unfortunately, he passed away and his widow put it up with his other prized possessions.
