And the recognition of sacrifice is not just for those that lose their lives in combat, but to those that dedicate a life to service.

a beautiful foto, roger. how long did it take you to get the sgt. rank ? i was "in" for 5 years and 4 months. perhaps it's a bit hokey, but i have great respect for those who wore the uniform. and certainly for those currently serving.

It took four years and one month to achieve E-5 in the Air Force. I later joined the Army National Guard with the same rank. I retired as an E-8. My wife achieved E-5 in the USMC and our daughter became an E-5 after the above photo was taken.
