I recently made this money clip for a friend. I tried to inlay some copper and gold for the lure but couldn't quite get it right. Any suggestions on how I could have done a better job of it??? Trout J Lock.jpg

fwiw i think the fish is very nice. not only detail, but great depth is apparent to my eye. due to the size of the lure, along with my crappy vision, i'm not sure what you think needs improvement

Ditto on what Monk says. Great detail on the scales/markings and depth. I can't make out what lure you used but it's clearly a lure. I only see it could use a gold eyeball and inside the mouth could have been blacked out
Nice work, thanks for posting, Mark

Speedy, I didn't think about putting a gold eye on the trout. I'll keep that in mind the next time I do a trout.

I think you did a dang good job of it. For the longest time we asked to see your work and I applaud you showing it. Well done.

Gee Sam, Thank you. Coming from you that's quite a compliment. I only wish I could get a hang on scroll work.
