Brian Marshall is one sharp cat. I never have seen one but I suppose there could be a need. I run into all kinds of different problems with my projects.
Like Brian says, You ought to make some. I make tiny files and such on a common basis cutting the teeth by hand.
how and with what would you use to cut the teeth in a home grown file.? fascinatin to me

Couldn't you make one with a fine checkering file...?
You just need the first 1/2" on the end.
Take a piece of round drill rod, file along the length and rotate the file around the axis.
Bend a curve in it.
Heat treat and temper.

A lathe with a cutter ground to shape and a index could work too.
Index the part, run the apron like a shaper down the length of the part, index, repeat.
4 jaw chuck would allow you to make any radius offset you want.

I got home after some time away, but I see that I did promise to post an image of one.

Now that I am reminded, after I clear enough stuff off the benches I will begin to search for one.

Don't hold your breath, but at least it is now posted on the list of things to do.

First step is to find one... and it has been years since I used them.
