Here it is in the first tryout.
Lazy Susan turntable base. Leather lined Front brake rotor for the stand.
Hubcap full O lead as the ball base.
Magswitch plate with the vise on top.
We will see how well it works...

It works, at least so far, haven't got my scope yet.
What do you think.
Also, what style would you call this?

Instead of the lead shot, I used BB's and mixed some epoxy in with them to make a great filler to add weight. They are cheap and heavy.

Yeah, mass it has!
I think I will need to reinforce the desk if I want to keep using it.
It's starting to sag.
Probably go with a separate stand for the ball once I get the Microscope home.

Homemade tools can be great, but sometimes you have to invest a lot of money upfront to get "tools to make the tools", lots of fun, check out this homemade graver:
