i did one a whole bunch of years ago. it was diifficult only because at the time, i was not very experienced. the client would not go the correct way( it was cut thru the bluing). it cut fairly easy, xcept for the cylinder. the cyl. was a bit of a challenge, but not prohibitively so. as i recall, it was a 357

The early Dan Wesson revolvers were very well made and are a sought after gun. I have a C-Bob 1911 and the steel used in it is fairly standard stuff. I did some test cuts inside the slide when I was thinking about cutting it at one time and it was typical 416 hardness.

the one i did was a revolver. at that point in time most any gun gave me problems. lack of experience is the greatest teacher.
