Awesome! How come the blades weren't hardened? How could you do so much engraving on hardened steel?

My technique in steel is acid etching "aqua forte", inherited from the nineteenth century and family tradition.

ummm. quite elegant work. the best feature, i think, is the open area of the background. it assures the design doesn't get "lost" in a lot of clutter. thanks for sharing this awesomme work.
