Anyone had, or heard of any experience w/these? the Chinese scopes? The arm setup is identical in design w/GRS's arm. I now own a Meiji but I have a budget minded friend asking me about these... I have no experience w/them.

I have no idea about this particular scope. However, you usually get what you pay for. With all the used Meiji and acrobat stands now on the market why not try to pick up one of those? They will be a quality built product and should give your friend years of use. If you purchase something like this eBay scope it could... could, be OK or your friend may be out the price and still have no microscope.

i got a used leica for way less than that. considering all that goes into the manufacturing and distribution of this scope, i would shy away from that. i did buy a used scienscope quite some time ago. it was ok, but i got a better leica i think for a bit less than 300 bucks

The stand and the scope are $400 with free shipping.
The stand alone is for sale for $160 but has $130 shipping.
I would by the former, resell the scope that comes with it for $250 and buy a good scope.
That way he would only be paying $150 for a stand.
