I learned a really interesting raised wire inlay technique from him in October at his workshop in New Hampshire. Essentially only one tool is used when one gets "good." There there is no undercutting done. As a beginner I still used a v-graver to make the first cut and then used this second tool we made in class to make little notches that hold the wire in place. Ford figured out this technique by reverse engineering from the restoration work he does on Japanese pieces. Anyway, if you are interested, check out his website. thanks
