I invited George to visit one of my classes and talk with the students. He brought these plates for Show-and-Tell and gave them to me to show in other classes and schools. George was always helpful to students of engraving.

Hi John

Thanks for that. A real piece of Americana engraving history is in those plates. :)

Cheers
Andrew

Thank you Andrew and thanks to all the folks that looked in and posted likes.
George was a good man, a good friend and I miss him.

Hello Brian, about castings.
When friend Mike Bissell was doing the castings for FEGA we talked about it.
I was looking out for the release form in my files from George's wife Sue.
Got busy, what's new and forgot about it.

Thanks for sharing John. George was a great guy. I had a question about a Winchester pattern (he did LOTS of them) and he sent me some patterns as well as some of his original smoke pulls.

George's Nimschke scroll was as close to the master's as any I have seen. Would you consider bring those to the show in Vegas?

Thanks,

Roger

Thank you for posting these John. They actually make me sad because George gave me steel practice plate with his brightcut engraving on it which rusted beyond repair. Nobody's fault but my own...I should have kept it wrapped and protected from humid Louisiana. It's really nice seeing these!!

I may well have had them then Dave, but like Brian said........Things get a little hazy after all these years.

Quote Brian Marshall

I seem to remember John having them with him when we took that class?

Like you said, things are gettin' a bit fuzzy...

Brian

BRIAN, As you say in your post........those days are getting fuzzy. Lot'sa water!!!
