I've had this rifle for a while. Can anyone ID who did the work? The marks on the inside of the floor plate look like Asian writing, but I wouldn't have a clue.

Any idea who or when? I would like to know what the Asian script says on the floor plate. I assume these are not all that rare. Is there any kind of value to it? Thanks for the quick reply.

I can't tell you what is says on the script but I would guess Korean War era. Very common for GIs to buy a gun in the PX and get it engraved. Usually trading for American cigarettes. They seemed to be like gold for trading stock in the Asian communities.

I once had a cymbal that was made in china, and it had some interesting looking written characters on it... I always assumed it was the cymbal makers signature. One day a friend of mine was at my house and he saw the writing on the cymbal and started to laugh, I asked him why. He told me the characters said "Please pay for all cymbals before removing them from the pavilion"
