a new lightpad to replace the extremely crude (but effective!) home-made model i cobbled together almost 30 yrs ago.

i've wanted one pretty much forever, but they're so expensive. then i started waiting for an LED version which would be thinner than a fluorescent. it just could never seem to get to the top of the priority list. the clincher was when i spied one yesterday in Michaels craft store and, after a very careful reading of the exclusions, realized i could use a coupon for 50% off any one regular price item. with tax, it was under $100.

I have one of the thin ones like this from Amazon and love it! I can throw it in my computer case when I travel and power it from a USB from my laptop or a phone charger. Works great and really handy.
