A work in progress: a Raven box in silver and 23K gold, 3" x 3" x 4". I have made silver boxes and gold boxes before, but this is the first time that I have used the gold inlay technique. This is my pet project; which I will work on as I have time over the next few months.

Included is a photograph of what an actual bentwood box looks like. This one is from the collection of the American Museum of Natural History, from about 1890.

Bill Reid box

C-box_side_view.jpg
This is a box that bill reid made a lifetime of study out of.

Thanks for your comment. I am pleased to see that you know of his work. Yes, the "Final Exam" box by Bill Reid, based on the work of the Master of the Black Field. The name of the artist who made the original box is lost to history. Bill Reid's silver box is enclosed here.
