Question: Transferring designs from a see-through paper with aceton

I always transfer designs printed with a laser printer on normal paper, by placing the printed side on the metal, and rubbing aceton on the back side, however it can sometimes be helpful to see how the design sits on the metal before transferring (mostly when transferring to some pre-cut piece).

Is there some see-through kind of paper that works for this purpose?

I tried two kinds that I have access to, but the aceton didn't actually go through them to the other side, and nothing was transferred.

Thanks.

I don't know anyone who has ever gotten reliable or consistent results with laser transparency sheets and acetone.

I usually place "reference marks" on the transfer AND the object to be engraved to facilitate accurate placement of the transfer.

many use bakers' parchment paper. none of the members mentioned tracing paper for artists. cheap enough, and who knows-- it may work. it surely is more transparent than most papers. guaranteed, acetone will seep thru it. use the search bar. there's a lot of info there on doing transfers.
