Graver for Checkering Clean Up?

I had this "aha" moment today when I was looking at 25 LPI checkering I did on a 1911 front strap with a file... only took 12 hours!

Has anybody used a graver to sharpen (clean up) the pyramids? I typically use a rifler file for this purpose but I think a graver could potentially do a better job.

Thanks

yes, i do it all the time, especially at the edges, but i typically checker metal at 40 lpi or finer. with 25 lpi you're probably better off with a file. i once checkered a buttplate by hand. NEVER. AGAIN.

i've tried checkering on practice plates. never got fast enough, or a level of quality that i would ever want to do on the real thing. i was hoping to do the checkering on a bolt. ugh, never again will i entertain such nonsensical thoughts.
