So, you need a light box for shooting photos of your engraved items. You could spend a hundred bucks or...you could do this. I tried it and it works.

a simple drafting compass would save a lot of time with a tape measure and pencil...

I use a 66 gallon translucent storage tote from KMart, less than $10 with tax. When I am finished taking pics my lights etc. fit inside the tote and it goes on the shelf. Everything in the tote, ready for the next pic session.http://scene7.

my sweetie wanted a new lamp for the front room. the old one had a nice, sized white shade. i cut a plexi disk sized to rest on the top. a suitable hole lasered in the top to fit my camera. the disk was then given a good scrub with sandpaper. ugly as possible, but works. the fancy stichwork on the outer surface causes no probllem. when i mount the camera, it's a good distance for taking fotos. i only illuminate from the sides.

i used to use one like this. my cat found it to be an ideal playpen. i got rid of it after she trashed the thing.
