cool ? yes ! but will probably give one cancer, diarrhea, or some other malady if one ever touches the stuff !

works on the same principle of stippled background,, made fr micro cones that make a highly reticulated surfaces that absorbs all light

Vantablack may not be the darkest material. You might want to check out Frederik De Wilde and super dark nano black. I think it was something developed for NASA.

I have used Renaissance Wax with inletting black mixed in. This I use over the flat black paint. A little lighter fluid mixed in helps it to not build up on the surface. I wonder how many different ideas there are for darkening backgrounds. I sure there are many.

There's a bit of a stink in the UK with this, because one artist has established exclusive rights to it.
