I had to run a 220 line for the big compressor...
It is in an insulated "closet" attached to the outside of the classroom.
Can't hear yourself think otherwise, and besides I do have neighbors. Containing and muffling it cuts about 80% of the racket.
It's big enough that it doesn't cycle too often.
