I just finished a very hard Mauser Action comerical model with British proof marks , crown over BNP.
When I removed the bluing there were two distinct bands of color at the front and rear of the action, that was strange to me. Did test cut at couple of places on the bottom no issues.
So when I started the design cut broken carbalt after 3/8 in:mad:. So a lot of sharpening later I finished it,
Also I tried a Ngraver dot punch and it shattered.
FYI. YMMV
