Critique Request Rifles with barrels still on them......

if i have to engrave a rifle with the barrel still on it I think ill slap this togather. Do you see any problems with this design that im overlooking? thanks in advance

May I suggest you get a practice plate about the size of the receiver you are going to engrave, add a 2 foot piece of dowel off to one side and then try engraving that with scroll (assuming you plan some scroll in the design). You will soon see why the given advice is to have the barrel removed.

my solution years ago was to build a huge microscope stand with about a 3' reach out over my vise.

What you need is one of those massage tables with the cut out face hole fixed up above the work area.

when the barrel breaks one of yer ribs, you'll buy brians" wrench ! your rig looks quite functional, but won't really solve the problem.
