I have always liked Celtic knotwork designs. That falls back to my involvement in the SCA back in the early 80s and 90s.
that just rules ! curious to know why symmetry was not observed in the original drawing. a cultural reason maybe ? whatever the reason, a really good drawing. your engraving looks really clean on this.

There is a seven point rule. Design runs through those points. Usually melts off to one side for some reason.
