I have a pair of beautifully engraved Colt SAA's signed by the Engraver but can't find out anything about him. I have been told by the College of Heraldry in England that the shield is most likely Iberian in origin and the guns were probably engraved in Texas, Mexico, Spain or Portugal. I would like to know more about him. With the flat engraving is magnificent sculptured engraving. The name on the barrel Engravers signature 002.jpg 7.JPG 5.jpg 9.JPG 1.jpg is Josafat.

Back in July of 2010 Roger Bliele asked the same question of possibly a sister of your colt.
No one at that time had any knowledge of the engraver.

Roger: Thank you very much for attaching your previous thread. I thought you might be interested that while I purchased the guns as Bisley's and thought they were for the longest time, they aren't. They are actually Elmer Keith No. 5 pistols made from Colt SAA's that were sold in Texas at the beginning of the last century. They are an exquisite mystery.
