I watched your youtube video you could do better with a smaller vise mounted to a pedestal so you can walk around with H&C,your struggling working at that large stationery having to stop and keep turning the work and stating over again.Also notice you H&C towards your self,where did you learn that technique? J.J.

JJ. Many of the old time hammer and chisel guys worked towards themselves. The claim was the can work faster, cover more of a circle and see the tool tip better Bill Mains worked this way and somdoes Ron Smith. Try it its not that hard to do and sort of fun

Marty,After meeting Neil Hartliep many years ago at an NRA convention in Philly I did give it a try and felt it was'nt for me I made to many slips.Working with your vise on a pedestal your able to cut scrolls in one pass without stopping,I have taught students this technique of H&C with much success. J.J.
