Today's practice

Finally got a room setup for engraving. Now to make sure I set aside an hour a day during the week to practice(hopefully more on the weekends). The leaves are from Sam's video. Comments?:tiphat:

Just one thing, learn to turn in both direction cw and ccw. One is always easier than the other. Your cuts are clean and you are getting a good feeling for the shading, good job!

I like what you have started . Try and make the crosshatch a little less intrusive . Remember its shade not a feature. The leaf doesnt have lines that run that direction . Space the crosshatch so that the space gets smaller as it gets to the bottom .

It's great to see your practice, Paul! This is exactly what it takes to learn engraving. Your cuts are well done and clean.
Dale gave you some good advice on the crosshatching.

as mentioned, the cuts are clean and well executed. consistent cutting makes for a far more enjoyable result. i like what you show here.
