Every once I awhile I get a low cost sentimental gun for some engraving. This one had a very small budget. So I attempted to put some animals on it without taking a lot of time. The thought was to put the minimal engraving time in but still have the animals say what they were without the need for explanation. FB_IMG_1431306991990.jpg FB_IMG_1431218369264.jpg

I thought that looked like a Champion, but mine only has three holes in it, instead of four and the serial # is on the bottom tang..

i think it's great to do such as you have. personal pride in ownership need not be reserved for the affluent only. every time i see a squirrel, i think of james b. meeks. his squirrel alone will survive for all time.

This one was painted. Used white gas to get it off. Many of these old guns are case colored not hardened. Rust remover will usually take it off.
