What I especially like is the size & placement of the raised bead work. To me, it renders a certain 'boldness', and in the right proportion to the size of the scrollwork. The spacing is flawless, and too close or too far apart just wouldn't work. Everything fits, as it should. Excellent!

Mike. Yes. I ordered it from GRS and then modified it to my own liking. Then I also did my own take on shading. I particularly like to use a liner in the tendrils of the scrolls.

I think this is an excellent example of how an engraver can take an existing design and really change the way it looks to be their own unique take on it.

Bert:

That has always been our goal in creating the ET.com transfers. It's good to know that folks are using them to establish a base design, and then adding their own personal touches. I use then myself, but by applying different backgrounds, details and other personal touches, I can create a wide variety of finished firearms that do not look the same - this was never intended to be a paint-by-number product.

The SAA was for a client. I probably won't see the finished gun other than pictures. This one I squeezed in between other jobs. It will be for sale.

I really like this design! Just wondering why you decided to not continue your excellent punch dot background behind the loading gate? It still looks good but to me a little unfinished.

Hehehe...you and Gerry Beathard must drink the same water...lol..

There is a border that's engraved around the scrolls and the loading gate. That space was left open to mimic the same area on the opposite side of the gun. It never occurred to me to fill it in with dots either.
