You folks are quite educated here, but perhaps some aren't aware of some of the amazing graving work done on Educational Silver Certificates. I think it's some of the nicest monetary graving out there.

Might have some elements that are inspirational for some folks...

I have been a coin & money collector even before I thought about engraving. Over the years I was lucky enough to acquire a few of these "types" of notes. Even then I looked at the engraving on them as being some of the best and most beautiful engraved notes in the history of money. Now when I look at them after doing a couple years of engraving myself, I look at them with a new respect. The genius behind the design and the amount of work involved to achieve these results are amazing. Especially with the tools they had to work with in 1896 compared to what we have now, these engravers were true masters.

i was fascinated with stamps. some of the art was just wonderful stuff. nowadays, all one sees is clipart on stamps. a real shame. maybe i missed something in childhood, but i fail to see" progress" in the lowering of quality.
