The rubbings are not mine, they belong to Purdey.
Last year Simon was asked by them if he would engrave a Special gun of theirs, it featured gold animals based on how the Victorian guns were engraved as most of the engravers of that time had never seen Lions and Elephants, they just went by what hunters had told them, this is why some of the engravings look odd.
