Here are a few carvings I have recently done using the president dollars as a host coin. I have read where some other carvers say they don't like the way they cut, that they are "gummy" feeling and don't hold a line well. I read this before I had ever carved one so I was a little apprehensive about getting into carving one. After I started carving I was kind of pleased with the way it cut, it felt soft and cut fast. I never ran into any problems carving any of the president or Sacagawea dollars that I have done, yet other carvers say they will never carve another one. I know it is the engravers preference to what he likes and don't like but I was just wondering if anyone else ran into any problems with the president dollars. Oh yeah, click on my name and check out my album that I put together if ya'll get a minute.
thanks
Joey

I like your work, really like the scuba diver. What caliber is the 5 shot revolver in the madison coin? Like his face and great depth of field. Thanks for posting.
Cheers
Don
