Gravers are used for making an incision into the metal. With etching the metal is removed with acid and not by a graver. You might have a look at this: Etching vs Engraving

Search for Barry Hand's excellent tutorial on etching.
As to your question, etching is a chemical process used to remove/eat up steel, therefore a graver is not used.

I think there might be a little misunderstanding going on. You can use engraving tools to cut through the resist then use acid to etch. You can also use needles, scribes etc. please refer to http://www.engraverscafe.com/showthread.php? 17900-Design-styles-Sumerian-and-Phoenician Monijano is one of the very best to my knowledge. He is in Spain and undoubtedly speaks other languages as is common in Europe Best of luck Fred
