If my memory is right, it engraves very easily. Porosity isn't a problem normally, but does occur if overheated during casting. Probably would be more comfortable pushing than power. The cuts will be bright for awhile, but will dull quickly with handling. Based on almost 30 years ago experience, so take for what it's worth.
the last pewter i did was with a gravermeister. what a terrible mistake. those who recommended push instead of power assist are spot on. i was barely able to do a respectable recovery with push graving. pewter is no longer on my list of things to do.
