I was having this conversation with Gerry yesterday, I was using my 105 easygraver for the first time. Was starting to sharpen my first 1.8mm round when I thought to myself what if I skip whole 1 and 2 and go straight to 3, 4 and 5, since it's small already. Had a phone call an emergency had to leave and didn't get to finish.
How many of you skip 1 and 2 (graver shaping holes, in other words just used to taper to a smaller tip).
I'm just thinking if I skip one and 2 will it give my 1.8 greater strength so he won't break when I engrave a firearm, or will I have heel drag?
I'm going to experiment later on today, just want to know your thoughts.
