You must be engraving around the clock, you are putting out a lot of beautiful work. I like the small wolf and ravens you put one the two knives. I looked at the engraving for quite a while before they popped out to me. At a glance they like part of the back ground.
Cheers
Don

Danae, You have become a very accomplished engraver, My only comment would be to try to bring the scroll work into contact with the border. I think you will find that you will see a difference in how the overall space is filled. Very well done and quit a volume of work with your full time employment. Are you getting any sleep? Fred

execution critique, design, flow etc.

Can anyone give me any pointers on how I can improve my design ability or execution.

Mr Benevolent Dictator, any words of advice?

I started with Sam's style scroll at the bottom and then tried to build it up but it changed and got a bit thicker as I went up. There's one leaf on this knife where I am happy with the shading

I like the anime figures, I think you could go a long way with that and a bit of ornament for framing

THANKS BARRY. THEY WERE JUST A BIT OF FUN TO BREAK OUT OF MY NORMAL SCROLLWORK (IVY LEAVES MY BROTHER CALLS THEM) WANTED TO LEARN A NEW SKILL SO ANODIZING SEEMED LIKE A GOOD ONE TO ADD TO THE SKILL SET.

With all that beautiful knife engraving, you're
really living on the edge!

THANKS MDENGRAVER, I LIKE THE PUN. IF YOU DO A LOT OF KNIFE ENGRAVING YOU LEARN SAFE WAYS, CUT THE BELLY OUT OF MY BEST JACKET WITH A BIG BOWIE I WAS WORKING ON, SWUNG IT AROUND AND LOOKING THROUGH THE SCOPE DIDN'T NOTICE THE TIP GUARD I STICKY TAPED ON FELL OFF. I TRY TO LIVE JUST OFF THE EDGE?

NOT MUCH SLEEP, I ENGRAVE 2-3HR SITTINGS MOST OF THE TIME AND DO TWO OR THREE A DAY SUNDAY AND MONDAY AND ONE EVERY NIGHT AFTER WORK (UNLESS I FEEL DEPRESSED AND TIRED AND WIMP OUT)

I realy like that SO monogram, is that your own design?

NO, THE SO MONOGRAM WAS FROM A BOOK I BOUGHT... I COULD TELL YOU WHICH IF YOU'RE INTERESTED, CHEAP BOOK.
