thinking of enrolling in January class. Anybody here take one with him? Worth the money? I will be taking the beginner course, trying to go beyond the wheat cut. TIA, John

Take the gun engraving portion and have him show you an hour of bright cut.
See if he can schedule the class for the week coinciding with the Alpine show's big weekend, preferably the adjoining Monday.
Practice your scrolls by getting Ron Smith's "Advanced Scroll Design" book. GRS has it.
Holler at me and I'll send you a very important page from his book.

Johny is a very good engraver, a very good teacher, and about the nicest guy there ever was. I guarantee that time spent with Johny is always time well spent.

Johnny is a great instructor. I have taken two of his classes you will leave Alpine with a good understanding of engraving and a good friend.
