Check out the graver stand I had made by a company in Colorado. I drew up the dimensions and had two of them made, one in oak and one in walnut (shown here). I got them unfinished and applied a coat of dark brown Briwax. The oak is nice but the walnut is more to my liking. Nicely made with dovetail construction! $40 ea + shipping.

Those are great looking! Are you doing much engraving with traditional gravers?

Not much, Bert. I occasionally grab a liner for some lettering or maybe a bent graver for inside ring work or a curved graver for down inside something (or inside a ring) where those types of gravers bounce too much for handpiece work.

Proper, oldfasioned gravers like that gives me a warm feeling inside. There is something soul calming about the old tools, I think, and together with those stands it becomes a pice of art in itself.

I really must whip something like that up. Every time I open this drawer I feel a little guilty like I'm neglecting old friends. They've been good to me over the years and deserve a nicer home.

That is absolutely shameful.

I can adopt them and give them a place to run:)

You know how the old dog feels when a new pup comes in the house.

Those stands are really nice Sam.
I've been using this one for about thirty years now.
