i like the way you do things. is the buckle of steel- with silver applied ?

Yes, 1/8 inch steel with bronze and silver soldered on. Cut in the middle with band saw and welded shut.

When I first glanced at your photos I thought it was two buckles, then I realized it was a front and back photo. You sure didn't waste any of that canvas. Nice job.

Do I see an interesting way of cutting a rope border??
Did you cut first straight lines towards the inside and then sculpting between those lines with a round graver???

Willem, I honestly dont know enough about this stuff to really tell you what I do exactly. I only use square gravers, roll it from one side to the other and then make a second cut on a pretty steep angle and gouge out the thin line in between. Hope that makes a little sense, dont know all the correct terms for things.
