After allot of research on weather I could engrave a Message and design on two Henry Rifles for a customer who came into my studio, I finally decided that I could come up with a nice design and message that would fit on the Butt Plates of these rifles. I finished and delivered these to the customer today Customer was very happy.

Nice work Bill. I have 5 Henry Big Boys on my Bench right now. They cut nicely.

I was not planning on doing a clear coat, but it sounds like a good idea. One is an older rifle and I'm doing a lot of polishing first. Does anyone else know about clear coating these?

So... You went with the butt plate option! I don't blame you. They cut just fine. Glad to hear the Big Boy is ok. Unfortunately it's the Golden Boy that folks most often inquire about.

Don't engrave the action on the silver 22s. They are nickel plated. There is a copper level just below the silver (nickel).
