It has been recommended here several times that beginners wanting to engrave their first gun begin with a brass framed replica cap & ball revolver. I just noticed that Cabela's has them on sale at a $100. price reduction. The price is $149.99 not the price in the headline. Maybe my mistake in the headline will attract more attention?

Typo in your headline.

The first pistol I engraved was a Pietta, heavily used, at about that price. I just picked up another at a show at that price. They are fun to engrave and a great practice plate. The brass can be challenging; brittle and hard with occasional voids and inclusions, but the barrel and cylinder cut very well.
