Fred, I'm not seeing what you refer to(unless it is at the top of the photo). We do have Cougar and coyotes here not to mention some old fences in which they can get caught.

Sam, on the momma right behind the babies tail, vertical cut about 6 inches long in the middle of the light colored hair.
Fred, that may be just hair parted, but I will take binoculars to that when I see her next. She was just under the tree about 30 minutes ago but I did not look at that particular spot. She has a tear in the trailing edge of her left ear that helps to identify.
