Antonio, very beautiful. Like Sam says, the background is fabulous. I've tried to do it, very difficult.

Friends Sam, thughes and scott99.
Thank you for your kind words.
* The background of the engraving is very nice and elegant. To make this line of engraving, you need several hours of work, because the "hardened steel" has great hardness.
I managed to get some practice in the art of the fund.
I use a carbide bur 0.3 mm.
* In normal metals is easier to perform the background shading, but in the "hardened stainless steel" it is more complicated.

** As I said above, just use a carbide bur.

Amigos Sam, thughes y scott99.

Antonio

Your background treatment makes the engraving jump out of the scene!
I especially like the way you rode up on the bevel cuts, producing a clean, uniform addition to standard styles.
You took a   and elevated it to excellence!
The skill level at which you executed the parallel cuts, keeping them so uniform, is to be commended!

Just had to look again!
The end cuts on the bevels looks like thousands of tiny diamonds!
Granted, they may be hard to see without magnification, but given the right lighting, this blade should sparkle! :beerchug:

friends:
I think the result of this "linear shading" is beautiful and highlights the set of engraving. I think we should not make too much of this technique and some practice gets done perfectly.
* Currently, I am investigating other techniques with gold, self-autodidact, to apply to future projects. I hope to get a positive result.
