    Default What's it worth?

I am looking at 2nd gen colt 45 as a possible canvas for myself. It is nickel plated, with stag grips and is in very nice condition. What should something like this cost?It is in great working order but am interested in knocking off the nickel and going to blue and grey for finish colors and also want to know what you do for removing the nickel plating. The possible trade is 1 oz. 24k for the gun.

That sounds like a pretty good deal for you for the trade. They are going for $1500-2500 or so on Gunbroker. The nickle has to be electro-stripped. Sort of like a reverse plating process. Reliable Electroplating does that.

    Silverchip,

Doc is right on the money range of $1500-2500 with about a 500 dollar plus side for unique arms ( like .38 spl or a 1 of so many series).

I assume you are talking about Gomersoll's gun. Very nice gun. I look forward to you doing something with it.
